These days, nat likes to suck on her mittens, until they are all wet. This is probably the precursor to teething, very cute :)

They say nice things come in small packages ... i totally agree. everytime i look at nat and see her small little hands and feet, i feel an overwhelming sense of maternal instincts and just want to pick her up and hug her for the rest of the day :)
Today nat is officially 2.5 months old. She has grown up a lot these past few weeks. She is a lot more active and responds when you talk to her. I really can't wait for when she can crawl and talk to me ... soon we'll have to feed her semi solids to supplement her milk intake. She gets very excited when we talk to her and will chatter back to us. This is her grouchy look when we dont pay enough attention to her.
I guess this is the advantage of being a firstborn, where your parents experience all their "first times" with you.

Conversations with my little one
Something I really enjoy doing ... these days, nat is able to establish eye contact when I talk to her ... and if she is in a good mood, she will even "reply" with baby talk. I read somewhere that new mothers spend up to 5 hours a day looking at their babies, not really being dramatic i feel, because i really could spend hours just looking at nat sleeping, stretching and yawning.

Today we brought nat for her first massage session at Babies and Cream. It was an enjoyable experience, set in a relaxing environment with warm, dim lights ... nat was not cranky ... and even seemed to enjoy the massage at times. We were taught methods of massaging her legs and feet. Interestingly, the trainer asked that before each massage session, we speak to baby and to tell her that we would be commencing the massage. This is very interesting as it teaches us to view baby as a little adult and not a small little squidge that is not aware of anything. I think gary and i are both looking forward to the next few sessions.

Since I started working, breastmilk supply has been going down, not too sure whether it's because of irregularity in pumping, or stress or whatever. Over the weekend, I've tried to pump more regularly and increase my water intake - feel like a camel ... , seems to be working, let's hope I can keep this up.
Baby has been quite a good girl, sleeping well except for those occasional nights when she is up and fussing the whole night. I enjoy spending time with her, just looking at her and talking to her. It's great being a mom to Nat and I hope we will enjoy a close relationship in future, just like me and my mom.

I didn't know that there are so many nice poems about babies on the internet, here's another sweet poem to share.
At first you didn't lift your head;
You didn't know to smile.
The time before you knew my voice
Seemed such a long, long while.
I couldn't wait for you to roll,
And then to sit and clap.
And now you're off and crawling,
Not helpless in my lap.
Why didn't someone tell me
How fast a baby grows,
That every little baby stage
Soon comes, but sooner goes.
So I'll enjoy the fleeting time
Before you learn to walk.
And treasure every tiny noise
Before you learn to talk.
For soon you'll learn to walk,
Then run, And talk and sing a song,
And never be my babe again.
The babe's forever gone.
Little baby, take your time,
For while you're tiny, you are mine.

Separation anxiety
First day at work on Tuesday, left babee at mum's place, felt sad leaving nat there and trudging off to work, really miss her ... sigh ... not sure if I can adapt to this. Never thought I would experience such intense separation anxiety ... in fact, the highlight of my day is lunch time, that's when i can nip home to spend time with nat.

Our dream pram
When Gary and I were doing intensive research on the perfect pram for babee nat, we came across our dream pram. Not something we would buy due to the "EX" factor but we can still drool, right?
Check it out: http://www.bugaboo.com/
It's really cool looking and not very common in Singapore, in fact, we see mainly expatriate couples using this pram. Gary likes it because it comes with lots of interesting gadgets.
Anyhowz, we are quite happy with our current pram: Maclaren Techno XT.
It's lightweight, nice looking and easily maneuverable. Most importantly, babee nat seems quite comfy in the pram so it's a good buy ... a gift from her fave and only auntie, my elder sister, yen.

babee's first outing!
Today was babee nat's first outing - destination: Botanic Gardens. We took out our new pram, the Maclaren Techno XT (sounds cool?) and tried to figure out how to open and close it. Took us about 10 minutes and soon we were on our way. Had some breakfast - yummy roti prata at Taman Serasi and were about to proceed for our walk. Sigh we then realised it was drizzling. So instead of having a walk in the park, babee's first outing became Great World City shopping mall.
Nat seemed to like her pram as she slept right through. Most of the afternoon was spent at Grandma's house and babee slept right through until 5pm (so did her Dad hahaha!) I'm really glad that everyone in the family loves babee and dotes on her.
